Position Summary:
Program Assistant to the Director

This assistant position provides help with program-specific tasks.  The position is supportive to the Program Director and the Program planning team.  Duties will include communications with the program team, students, and families.  This position will also offer tangible support helping to organize curriculum, assessments, supplies, field trips etc.… Position also requires some classroom involvement.

Employment Classification: Temporary (7 weeks) July/August

Part Time position (20-40 Hours/ Week).   Starting pay 11.50/ hr.

Summer Academic Camp and mandatory training (July 17- August 25)

Training dates TBA

Objectives and Responsibilities

  •  Assist with initial set up the Summer ACE Program
  •  Assist with communications with parents and youth (program specific)
  •  Assist with special events
  •  Assist with organizing safe the transport of children and staff to daily activities and any special activities
  •  To supervise and coach small groups of young children (ages ranging 5-14) academically through  physical activity, and nurturing men
  •  To attend regular staff meetings/trainings to ensure program goals are met
  •  To assist in daily closing/clean-up duties, set-up, and transportation
  •  To work as a member of a program team with other staff and children
  •  Assist with creating lesson plans for daily academic learning
  •  Some light lifting required

Qualifications

  •   Experience working with children and youth
  •   Strong Communication skills
  •   Ability to be flexible
  •   Experience working on a team
  •   Some administrative skills
  •   Experience working with people of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  •   Willing to work with a Faith-based organization
