Position Summary:
Classroom Academic Coach

The Classroom Coach provides safe learning environments for children and youth ages ranging from 5-14. Coaches supervise and participate with children and youth in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.  This position involves daily planning with social and academic interaction with children.  The ideal applicant will model positive leadership and character while creating positive mentor/student relationships with camp participants.

Starting pay $9.50/hr.  Wage is negotiable upon qualified experience.

Employment Classification: Temporary (7 weeks) July/August

Full and Part Time positions open (20-40 Hours/ Week).

Summer Academic Camp and mandatory training (July 17- August 25)

Training dates TBA

Objectives and Responsibilities

  • To create and maintain a safe and clean environment for young children to learn and play
  • Safely Transport children to daily activities and any special activities (sp. Training provided for this)
  • To supervise and coach small groups of young children (ages ranging 5-14) academically through physical activity, and nurturing mentorships.
  • To attend regular staff meetings/trainings to ensure program goals are met, to provide a consistent and high-quality experience for program participants.
  • To assist in daily closing/clean-up duties, set-up, and transportation
  • To work as a member of a program team with other staff and children
  • To create lesson plans for daily academic learning
  •  Some light lifting required

Qualifications

  •  Experience working with children and youth
  •  Strong Communication skills
  •  Ability to be flexible
  •  Experience working on a team
  •  Some administrative skills
  •  Experience working with people of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  •  Willing to work with a Faith-based organization
