URBAN IMPACT CENTER

Nehemiah’s vision for the Urban Impact Center is to equip and empower established and emerging African American leaders to co-create and lead communities of hope, transformation, and justice.

In 2016, the Nehemiah Urban Impact Center will launch the following initiatives:

  • N:ext: A male cohort of local, emerging African American leaders (age mid-20s – mid-30s) will meet monthly with Rev. Dr. Alex Gee to develop their capacity to lead change in their organizations and community.  Participants will focus on developing their own leadership style and capacity, understanding their role as a leader in the African American community, and learn effective practices and models for engaging the larger community in issues requiring the transformational leadership of the next generation.
  • National Intercultural Community Development Training: Emerging Christian community development leaders will meet twice annually for 3-day sessions to explore the power of faith-based organizations to create hope, transformation, and justice in the communities in which they serve. Between sessions, participants will engaged in online learning and discussion led by a faculty of diverse community development experience. Participants include: Pastors and other church leaders serving in multicultural communities of faith.
