Dear Supporters,

Let’s go the extra mile for our Back 2 Skool Bash this year! We would like to distribute gift cards to parents to stores like Target, Walmart, Burlington, Kohl’s, etc. for those last-minute things. The goal is to promote dignity, happiness, and pride for parents in being able to go to the store with their kids for things like socks, hair bows, or even the belt they need for their jeans.

I remember when I was a single mom. I had five kids in school at one time. I wanted the first day of school to be special and make sure my kids had a new outfit, shoes, and a fresh haircut so no one could tell that we didn’t have a lot of money. I remember going to the back-to-school events trying to stretch my own dollars. This is why the Back 2 Skool Bash is important to me! I remember the stress and strain of trying to make ends meet along with the excitement in my babies back then.

See most of you probably thought the Back 2 Skool Bash was just another handout, but you’re wrong! It’s about meeting the needs of families in the community at a time when they are most vulnerable to increased stress, depression, and anxiety. The Back 2 Skool Bash is a therapeutic event providing emotional support, resources, food, and a host of amazing speakers, activities, games, and more! Providing gift cards would extend that last bit of support to have an even greater impact!
