Nehemiah Announces Leadership Transition
May 16, 2025Announcing: 10 Years of Our Madison Plan – Systems Change Symposium

We are excited to invite you to join us in commemorating a significant milestone for our city—the 10th anniversary of Nehemiah and the Justified Anger initiative’s unveiling of Our Madison Plan. This anniversary marks a decade of courageous and transformative community action to address racial inequities, empower Black leadership, and build a stronger Madison.

Our Madison Plan was the culmination of years of discussions, research and collaboration among members of Madison’s Black community. It was an audacious challenge to all of us to find the courage to envision a city where racial disparities would be tackled head-on, where education, economic opportunity, and justice would be within reach for everyone, including and especially the Black community.
Since then, with the support, hard work and dedication of countless individuals, institutions, faith-based organizations, businesses and more, we have made measurable progress. From the success of Nehemiah’s Black History for a New Day course to our innovative leadership programs, as well as the many accomplishments of other Black-led organizations, our community has shown that change is not just possible—it is happening.
Mark your calendars now for a day full of inspiring community transformation on Friday, May 30, 2025. We want to look back at what we learned, what has been accomplished, and where we still need to work together going forward.
Together building,

Friday, MAY 30, 2025
