Position Title:  Director of Mobilization

Employee Classification: Full Time (40 Hours/Week), Exempt

Reports To: Harry H. Hawkins, III, Executive Vice President

Salary: $41,600

The Director of Mobilization is responsible for the onboarding of volunteers, volunteer assignments, and volunteer training. They will also oversee that volunteers grow in their engagement with Nehemiah and become champions of our work in their spheres of influence.


I. New Volunteer Onboarding and Orientation (25%)

  • Create and manage monthly onboarding orientations for new volunteers
  • Respond to inquiries about volunteer opportunities
  • Maintain communications with new and potential volunteers who use the volunteer@nehemiah.org address
  • Create and oversee cultural onboarding sessions using the Nehemiah Cultural Handbook

Volunteer Assignment (30%)

  • Prepare finance reports for program budgets, grants, and Board Meetings
  • Oversee the proper allocation of funds and disbursement of funds
  • Oversee audit preparation
  • Ensure proper and timely payments are received from contracts and grants

III. Volunteer Database Oversight (5%)

  • Manage Nehemiah’s small business loan program
  • Screen new applicants for the micro-loan program
  • Work with the loan committee to approve or deny requests

Volunteer Engagement (40%)

  • Act as the Nehemiah staff liaison with the Justified Anger Alumni Group
  • Ensure Nehemiah is compliant with all local, state, and Federal regulations
