Communications Coordinator
Position Title: Communications Coordinator (Nehemiah/Justified Anger)
Employee Classification: Part Time (20 Hours/Week), Nonexempt
Reports To:Director of Development
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the mission and goals of Nehemiah . The Coordinator will manage and implement a communications plan and develop a team to support and sustain the organization effectively – articulating it’s message to all donors, stakeholders, and volunteers.
COMMUNICATIONS
Communications Team (20%)
- Develop and manage a team of communications volunteers, interns and staff
Communications (non-web) (35%)
- Emails updates & Newsletters
- Social media & Blog postings
- Video – film, edit, post (shorts, features, events)
- Photography
- Graphic design
- Bi-annual letter to full Nehemiah constituents
- Annual Report
- Story collection and management
- Press releases
- Writing and editing
- Special event media and communications coordination
Website Management (15%)
- Regular updating of website content
- Update structure/pages as needed
COMMUNITY RELATIONS & DEVELOPMENT (15%)
- Network for and represent Nehemiah and Justified Anger as requested
- Assist in implementing the Nehemiah plan
GENERAL (15%)
Admin
- Oversee and mange budgetary objectives related to communications
Nehemiah and Justified Anger Staff
- Attend staff meetings and gatherings as required
- Submit required staff reports
- Meet with supervisor on a regular basis
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities as appropriate
- Work in collaboration with others on the Nehemiah/JA Advancement Team
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of social media vehicles, web site management
- Strong writing/editing skills preferred
- Willingness to take direction and ability to take initiative
- Good interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to manage volunteers and interns
- Must have a high school diploma, GED equivalent or substantive work experience in the field
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other communications critical software
